The Toronto Raptors Blog with an Arsenal touch

The ArsenalistMy name is Zarar, I live in Toronto and was born in Kashmir. This website exists because I love the Raptors, as they go, so does my day. I’ve been an Arsenal supporter for quite some time now but over the last few years the advent of P2P streaming has allowed me to get a much better view of the team. Since I watch the games on P2P, I thought I’d put up some of the highlights while I’m at it. I’m glad people enjoy them.

I used to run a site called way back in 2002 but back then it was really hard to maintain a site (blogs weren’t invented yet) and ultimately me and the guy who ran it finally got swamped with too much work and decided to call it quits. It was pretty good, take my word for it. Starting in 2006, I created a blog called Late Night Hoops which was named so because I wrote all my posts in the wee hours of the morning. That lasted a little while until I decided to start posting Arsenal clips and Blogger was being a bit of a pain about that. Plus it was kinda ugly. So I moved to hosting and picked The Arsenalist as the title just because it sounded cool. I realize that it conveys nothing about this being a Raptors blog but that’s the way it is for now.

People always email me asking who I like more, the Raptors or the Arsenal. You can’t ask a question like that because it’s not very fair, it’s like asking which one of your limbs would you rather lose. I’ll say this though, if I had to pick between Arsenal winning the Champions League or the Raptors winning the NBA title, I’d go with the Raptors simply because the party in Toronto would be insane. How’s that for a cop-out?

You’ll also notice some technology related stuff once in a while but that’s only because my blog is a pain when it comes to language and when I get riled up about technology, I start swearing. I did move a lot of the tech stuff over here though. My favorite blog on the net is the Bile Blog because it’s hilarious and true. I’m a Systems Analyst by trade with an interest in Business Analysis. I’m studying Geographic Information Systems (GIS) right now and hope to do a Masters program soon. If you got any proposals or ideas, shoot me an email.
